When it comes to shoulders, the bolder, the better. One of the best ways to build a massive set: Pushups. But we're not talking about pounding out reps of the classic version. This is an all-new pushup circuit that will make your shoulder muscles bulge and your upper body burn.

"It challenges your muscles from three different directions, increasing the demand on each shoulder and eliminating weaknesses," says BJ Gaddour, C.S.C.S., creator of the popular Men's Health DVD program Speed Shred. "Your shoulder muscles have never trained like this before."

The circuit works like this: Do each exercise—the pushup, the side pushup to your right, and the side pushup to your left—for 30 seconds, and then move on to the next one. Rest 15 seconds between each exercise. That's one round. Rest one minute, and repeat.

"You'll not only ignite muscle growth and build strength with this type of training, but it'll also push your post workout metabolism through the roof," says Gaddour. "That's because your shoulders are one of your body's most metabolically active muscle groups—and you're hammering them over and over again."
